The Shambhala Mountain Center Scholarship Fund

The Scholarship Fund provides financial support to individuals who would otherwise be unable to participate in a Shambhala Mountain Center program. We strive to distribute the fund's resources as widely and fairly as possible, with special consideration given to applicants who will integrate their experiences at Shambhala Mountain Center into their families, workplaces, and communities.

We greatly appreciate the generous support we receive from our monthly and annual donors. Join us in our mission to support people in connecting to their inherent wisdom, compassion, and goodness, and cultivating health and well-being. Scholarship Application Form

Eligibility: Financial need serves as the primary basis for determining eligibility. Please note that the table below determines your eligibility but does not guarantee a scholarship.

If your income exceeds the amounts listed below you do not qualify for financial aid. If you nevertheless still need financial aid, please explain why you should be considered.

Family Household Size To be eligible for a scholarship your maximum family household income cannot exceed
1 $26,000
2 $35,000
3 $44,000
4 $55,500
5 $62,000

Scholarship Amounts: Scholarships generally cover between 10 and 40 percent of the program cost (tuition, room, and board). Financial aid recipients are expected to register for seasonal dorm or tent double accommodations.

Award Determination: If you meet the income eligibility criteria, your application will be further evaluated based on community involvement and other life circumstances. Preference is given to individuals who have not previously received a scholarship. Scholarships are evaluated and awarded in the order received.

Application Deadline: Applications are accepted up to 30 days in advance of the program start date. Applications received within 30 days may not get reviewed. Funding is limited so apply early.

Participants receiving financial aid are expected to assist with the smooth running of the program. In partial exchange for their award, community service may include dish clean up, program space clean up, and similar activities.
