This spectacular trek will take us deep into the Himalayas, through the famous Khumbu region and on to Tenngobche, the most important center of Buddhism in the area, from where we will catch our first glimpse of Chomolungma, known to the world as Mt. Everest. We will also spend time off the beaten path in the small Sherpa village of Sengma, home to Pemba Sherpa's family, as well as in the bustling trading town of Namche Bazar and Nepal’s colorful capital city of Kathmandu. Pemba Sherpa grew up in the Khumbu region of Nepal's Himalayas. Guiding travelers since 1986, he has led more than twenty trips to Nepal for both the Colorado Mountain Club and the Himalayan Explorers Club to destinations such as Island Peak, Lobuche Peak, Chulu East and Ama Dablam. He has lived in Boulder, Colorado, since 1991, but spends three to four months a year guiding trips throughout the world.
