2013 Summer Dathun
July 24–August 21, 2013
This program will be open for registration shortly.
Dathün is a month long group meditation retreat for people who are interested in furthering their meditation practice.
Our program will include individual meditation instruction, guided meditations to deepen our shamatha practice, and contemplative meditation to develop insight and open our hearts to compassion.
NOTE: To learn more about Dathün, read these Shambhala Times articles.
Register for the entire Dathün or a Weekthün
The dathün is a month-long journey to deepen in the practice of meditation. If you have not attended a week or more of dathün previously, please register for week I or week II. If you have a situation that requires an exception to the guidelines below, we can arrange for you to discuss this with the program directors:
If you wish to enter in the Weekthün I, you feel inspired to do an intensive group retreat. If you already have a meditation practice, that is a good foundation.
If you wish to enter in the Weekthün II, it is suggested that you have already completed some Shambhala Training Levels or attended other meditation programs.
If you wish to enter the Weekthün III, it is suggested that you have already completed at least one weekthün and are already familiar with oryoki.
