Shambhala Guide Training: Registration Page

Acharya Allyn Lyon and Shastri Jeffrey Stevens

January 30–February 2, 2015

Tuition $250 + 3 nights

Congratulations on being accepted to Shambhala Guide Training!

Shambhala Guides are trained to give initial meditation instruction, as well as be a resource, friend, and host to newcomers within the context of a Shambhala Center. Guides offer information on our Shambhala and Buddhist lineages, programs, practice paths, shrines, Shambhala forms, chants, ceremonies, events and so on. Guides will be trained in the principles of engagement and friendship—listening, inquiry, and speaking from the heart— so they can assist each new student individually and appropriately.

Please note that this training is an initial step towards authorization as a Shambhala Guide. At the completion of the training, the co-directors will determine which students are ready to be authorized as Guides.  Not all participants who complete the training will be authorized as a Shambhala Guide; some may need further study and practice.

Once authorized as Guides, students who have the interest and the requisite level of experience may pursue Meditation Instructor and/or an Assistant Director Trainings.
