The Shambhala Meditation Dathun can be taken in it’s entirety or in weekly segments. If you wish to enter in Weekthün II, it is suggested that you have already completed some Shambhala Training Levels or attended other meditation programs.

Use this page to register ONLY for Weekthün II & III.

If you are completely new to meditation, we recommend our Simplicity Retreat, which is running December 21-28, concurrently with Week II of the Dathün. If you already have a meditation practice, but have not completed any Shambhala Training levels, we recommend that you join us for Weekthüns I & II.

Laundry Services

Due to restrictions on water usage at Shambhala Mountain Center, the laundry for participants attending the Dathün will be done professionally off site. The cost for this service is included in price.

Shastri Holly Gayley

Shastri Holly Gayley teaches courses on Buddhism in the Religious Studies department at the University of Colorado in Boulder. She has been a practitioner of meditation in the Shambhala community since 1992 and regularly presents meditation to groups on college campuses. Holly has frequently traveled to Eastern Tibet for her research on contemporary Buddhist movements.

Acharya Daniel Hessey

Acharya Daniel Hessey has been a student of Shambhala Buddhism since 1971 and has taught extensively throughout the U.S. and South America. Since 2004, he has studied the I Ching with Eva Wong, a Taoist Qigong lineage holder and translator of classical Chinese texts. Dan is also a former director of Shambhala Mountain Center.
