Feng Shui with Eva Wong

August 6 – 8, 2009

Qi rides the wind and scatters, but is retained when encountering water.
For thousands of years, Asian cultures have built their spiritual sanctuaries in accordance with the qi, or energy, of the land. Fengshui is the traditional Chinese art and science of understanding the patterns of energies in the land and the interdependency between sacred architecture and geography.

Through talks, discussions, slide shows, and walks at Shambhala Mountain Center, Eva Wong will present the principles of landform and the nature of the carriers of energy in the land—dragon veins in the mountains, earth dragon in valleys, and water dragons in rivers and lakes. You will learn how these principles guided the construction of Tibetan stupas, Chinese pagodas, Japanese Shinto shrines, and Indian temples and how to apply the wisdom of fengshui to residential and commercial environments. Prototypes of sacred architecture from these cultures and their timeless applications to modern spiritual sanctuaries will also be discussed.

Eva Wong is the lineage carrier of Zhen's Xuankong Flying Stars Fengshui and Sanyuan (Three Periods) Fengshui. She is the author of Fengshui, the Ancient Wisdom of Harmonious Living for Modern Times and A Master Course in Fengshui, which have been translated into numerous foreign languages, including Spanish, German, French, Russian, Italian, and Polish.
