Tapping the Well of Inner Resource: The Healing Power of Yoga & Meditation with Janet Solyntjes & Gil ElhartOctober 15 – 18, 2009
In the search for well-being and happiness we tend to avoid the journey of looking deeply at what we have rather than what we don’t have. The hatha yoga and Buddhist meditation traditions offer tools to tap our inner resources—the limitless well of unconditional love and joy—that allow us to move beyond fear and doubt and enter the path of healing. This retreat will focus on the power of the mind and body to heal our wounds, open our hearts, and transform the world. Together we will tap into the “well” through the practices of sitting and walking meditation, hatha yoga, community dialogue, and periods of silence.
Janet Solyntjes, MA, CYT, teaches mindfulness practices at Naropa University, Shambhala Meditation Centers, Omega Institute, and Hollyhock. A practitioner of mind-body disciplines since 1977, she has trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction with Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli of the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Janet is also the co-founder of The Center for Courageous Living in Boulder, CO. Gil Elhart is certified hatha, Vinyasa Flow, and Storytime yoga for children and began practicing yoga in 1999. He blends the practices of hatha yoga with storytelling, humor, and guided self-discovery and teaches in Boulder and Longmont, Colorado.
