Thriving in Stressful Times: An Exploration through Iyengar Yoga with Kofi BusiaOctober 2 – 4, 2009
This program has been canceled.
Our minds, bodies, and spirits exist inside the pressure cooker of contemporary society. The stresses we feel are not only emotional and psychological, but also come as a result of the constant onslaught of environmental pollutants and toxins. Witnessing world events adds to our personal burden of worry and concern. In this workshop, suitable for all levels, we will look at a range of asanas and asana sequences intended to bolster physical and emotional well-being and counteract these stressful times. We will learn to find the inner resources we need to thrive, despite the challenges. Kofi Busia has more than 30 years of teaching experience in the Iyengar Yoga tradition, having learned his precise and therapeutic teaching style directly from B.K.S. Iyengar. He has studied and taught Sanskrit and Indian philosophy at Oxford University in England for more than 20 years and is currently finishing an original translation of and commentary on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. He offers individualized attention and postural corrections that can revolutionize your relationship to your body and your asana practice. This workshop will blend the deeper teachings of yoga with a powerful practice of postures for a transformative weekend of Iyengar Yoga. “Kofi is a wonderful and insightful teacher. He has an amazing way of seeing people’s strengths and weaknesses and adjusting yoga poses.” – Andi D., mother, Wynnewood, Pennsylvania Please arrive between 2 and 5pm on Friday, October 2. Program ends with lunch at 12:30pm on Sunday, October 4. View Detailed Program Information. |
