Thanksgiving Family Retreat & Autumn Celebration: Registration for Shambhala Center Members

Take advantage of substantial price discounts and join us for this special celebration of our Shambhala lineage.

Please join us as we gather to give thanks for what we have in our lives. Beginning with an elegant Thanksgiving dinner, this family-friendly event offers a flexible program of children’s activities, yoga, introduction to meditation, and hiking. Highlights of the weekend include kyudo (Japanese archery) workshops with Alex Halpern, and talks on "How to Raise Your Spirits and Other’s Too, in Difficult Times" with Cynthia Kneen. The program is perfect for the whole family, young and old, newcomers to meditation and those who have been practicing for years. The program also includes tours of the Great Stupa of Dharmakaya and the Kami Shrine. Mornings are geared toward adult activities and afternoon activities will be child-friendly.

Childcare will be offered at for children 3 years and older on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 12:30 pm. Teenagers have the option of helping with childcare or shadowing a Shambhala Mountain Center mentor, with optional meditation instruction available. Everyone on the land under the age of 21 must either help with childcare or participate in a program.

Prices reflect substantial discounts off our regular room and board rates, and there is no tuition for this program.

Children ages six and under are free. The cost for ages 7 to 17 is $25 per day or $75 total for the three days. Please register each child separately. You will see the child registration option after clicking on the red box.

Please register as early as possible to help our cooks plan the meals.

If you are unable to come for Thanksgiving dinner, you are welcome to come from Friday through Sunday. Online registration is not available for the Friday to Sunday option. To register call us at 1-888-STUPA-21 or 303-468-9640. You should also call us if you wish to join us for just Thanksgiving dinner. The cost for Thanksgiving dinner alone is $25 for adults, $15 for ages 7 to 17.
