August 16 - September 25, 2009 Help Shambhala Mountain Center get ready for our fall and winter seasons. During Fall Take-Down, we will dismantle the tent village nestled in our mountain meadows and wooded hillsides. The schedule includes six and a half hours of work each day, six days a week. In exchange, you will receive housing (first in tents, then in dorms), meals and $100 of program credit for each week of work that can be used to attend most programs at the Center (credit is good for up to two years). You will also receive meditation instruction, attend workshops, make new friends, and learn about integrating practice into everyday life. It's a lot of fun and hard work.
Entry into the Fall Take-Down program is by application. The program takes place at around 8,000 feet in the Rocky Mountains and involves rigorous physical effort. Please consider this before applying. Entry dates for the program are Sundays (August 16, August 23, August 30, September 6 and September 13). Fridays are designated departure days. Please plan to arrive and depart on these days only. Join us for a week, several weeks or the entire program!
Due to immigration and Homeland Security laws, non-US citizens are required to pay a small weekly fee for this volunteer opportunity.
For further information, including an application form please go to the Volunteer, Internship & Core Staff Opportunities page of our website. In addition to submitting the application, please register below. Your application is not complete until we receive both your application and your registration. We will contact you once a decision has been made on your application. If you have any questions about the Take-Down program, please contact Sarah at employment@shambhalamountain.org or (970) 881-2184 x237.
