No Hope, No Fear Part 1: Spiritual Materialism with Frank Berliner

February 10 - 12, 2006

If we look honestly at our life, we can see it is pervaded by an unending dance between hope and fear. We cannot escape this realization without pulling the wool over our eyes. The teachings of Shambhala invite us to live with an unflinching awareness of this truth, rather than look for a path that will somehow avoid it. They give us the profound message that there is no way out, only a way in and through.

In a series of four seminars, we will study this theme as it recurs throughout the work and life of Chögyam Trungpa, exploring its practical application to our own spiritual journey through meditation practice (including the Sadhana of Mahamudra), lectures, group discussion and poetry reading. You may participate in any or all of these four programs.

Part 2: Mindfulness and Space will be held May 26-28, 2006.
Part 3: Warrior Heart will be held in September 2006.
Part 4: Sacred Wisdom will be held in November 2006.

Frank Berliner is a core faculty member at Naropa University, where he teaches Buddhist and Western humanistic psychology. A long-standing student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, he has served as national director for Shambhala Training. He maintains a private practice as a psychotherapist and organizational consultant in Boulder, Colorado.
