Dwelling in the Palace of Bliss & Emptiness: A Sadhana Practice Intensive with Acharya Larry Mermelstein

June 30 - July 13, 2006

This track of the Shambhala Dzochen retreat is currently full. You may still register for the Dzochen retreat and sign up for the independent practice track
Practicing in The Great Stupa of Dharmakaya, the mandala of Chakrasamvara and Vajrayogini as well as Vajrasattva, this sadhana intensive will provide the perfect atmosphere to deepen and enrich our connection with the yidam mandalas into which we have entered and been empowered.

Acharya Mermelstein will give talks focusing on visualization training, the principles of utpattikrama (the creation stage), and the Vidyadhara’s unique and intimate instructions throughout the program. There will be ample opportunity to discuss the specifics of each of our sadhana practices, especially those of Vajrayogini, Chakrasamvara and Vajrakilaya. Participants will be invited to attend the Shambhala Dzogchen Retreat talks of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.

As we plan to practice each of our main sadhanas intensively on a daily basis in the second- and third-floor shrinerooms of The Great Stupa, attendance will be limited due to space considerations.

Please note that the dates of this program have shifted slightly to correspond with the Shambhala Dzogchen Retreat led by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.

PREREQUISITE: Vajrayogini abhisheka

When registering, please indicate whether you will be practicing the Vajrayogini or Chakrasamvara sadhana in the comments field of the registration form.

Beginning in 1971, Larry Mermelstein became a close student of the Venerable Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Tibetan Buddhist meditation master and scholar, and he is empowered as a senior teacher, or “acharya,” by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. He has been the executive director of the Nalanda Translation Committee for over 25 years and is a long-time consulting editor to Shambhala Publications.

The registration date for this program has already passed.
