at Shambhala Mountain

From Trauma to Spiritual Awakening & Flow with Peter Levine, PhD

September 22 - 24, 2006

In healing trauma, a vital part of the therapeutic process is for clients to establish a “felt-sense” of connection to their deepest self, or being. Without this link, navigating clients’ traumatic terrain can be extremely challenging for therapists and frustrating for clients. In this workshop, we will explore the modality of Somatic Experiencing® as a way to reconnect with the deep self. The program will include information on the latest brain research, video material and experiential practice incorporating bodily felt-sense. The focus will be on developing practical tools to gracefully enhance the relationship between trauma and spirituality within the therapeutic experience.

Peter Levine, PhD, holds doctorates in medical biophysics and psychology. With 35 years’ experience in the field of stress and trauma, he has developed and teaches Somatic Experiencing worldwide. Peter is the author of the bestseller Waking the Tiger: Healing Trauma and Healing Trauma: A Pioneering Program in Restoring the Wisdom of Our Bodies.
