Summer Dathün Meditation Retreat with Acharyas Gaylon Ferguson & Arawana Hayashi: Week III

July 22 - 29, 2007

Registration for Week III of the summer dathun is now closed.

Intense meditation practice enables us to experience a profoundly fresh view of our lives—so precious in this hectic world. Engaging in such practice in a group setting provides powerful support for this process and provides a rich training ground for the creation of compassionate society. Designed for both newcomers and experienced students, this retreat includes sitting and walking meditation, private interviews with a qualified meditation instructor and lectures. Meals will be taken in Zen oryoki style, and periods of silence will be observed.

For a deep immersion into the path of meditation and warriorship, we invite you to attend the entire monthlong retreat or dathün. You can also participate in one or more of our weeklong segments, or weekthüns. Register on this page if you wish to attend Weekthün III.

If you wish to attend other weekthüns, you need to register for those separately. Please note in the Comments section at the bottom of the registration page that you will be registering for more than one weekthün. You must attend one of the first three weekthüns to attend Weekthün IV.

Due to restrictions on water usage at Shambhala Mountain Center, laundry for participants staying two weeks or more will be done professionally off-site. The fee is $15 for those staying for two weeks and $30 for those staying for three weeks. This fee is not included in the total cost of the program below.

Currently a visiting professor at Naropa University, Acharya Gaylon Ferguson has led meditation retreats for 30 years. His article, “Making Friends with Ourselves,” was selected for inclusion in The Best Buddhist Writing 2005.

Acharya Arawana Hayashi is a dancer, choreographer and chair of the Shambhala Arts Council. A faculty member of the Shambhala Institute for Authentic Leadership, she also offers Presence workshops nationwide with Otto Scharmer, coauthor with Peter Senge of
Presence: An Exploration of Profound Change in People, Organizations and Society.

The registration date for this program has already passed.
