Shambhala Dzogchen Retreat with Sakyong Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche

July 22 - 31, 2007

The Shambhala Dzogchen Retreat has reached capacity. Registration is now closed for all intensives. If you wish to be placed on the wait list (cabin tent double accommodations only), email Keith at keith@shambhalamountain.org with "Dzogchen Wait List" in the subject line.

Join Sakyong Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche as he weaves together the view and practice of the Shambhala Terma tradition with the Dzogchen Ati tradition. We will cultivate the nature of mind transmission both as a practice and as a way of life. This program is open to all graduates of Shambhala Vajrayana Seminary. Each participant will take part in one of four intensives—Ngöndro, Werma, Sadhana or Mahamudra—led by an acharya. All practice numbers or days accumulated during this retreat will count toward overall practice requirements.

Prerequisite: Shambhala Vajrayana Seminary is a prerequisite for all program participants including those attending the Werma intensive.

Sakyong Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche is the head of the Shambhala lineage. An incarnation of Mipham the Great, he is also the dharma heir and son of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Shambhala Mountain’s founder. He is the spiritual director of Shambhala, a global network of meditation and retreat centers, and the author of the best-selling books Turning the Mind Into an Ally and Ruling Your World. Rinpoche’s background embraces both Eastern and Western cultures. Born in Bodhgaya, India, the site of the Buddha’s enlightenment, he grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and received his spiritual training from his father and other distinguished lamas.

Participants are strongly encouraged to attend the entire program and partial attendance is restricted. Partial participants must arrive at the start of the program on July 22 and stay until at least July 27.

Participants are also encouraged to attend Shambhala Vajrayana Seminary, which is being held July 6 to 21. Seminary graduates attending both programs will receive a $498 discount as repeat participants plus an additional $150 discount for attending both programs. Click here to register for both programs.

Registration below is for those wishing to attend only Shambhala Dzogchen Retreat with Sakyong Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche. To complete your registration please provide us with your first and second choices of the intensive you'd like to participate in. You can do this by entering your choices in the "comments" field of the registration form.

The registration date for this program has already passed.
