Retreat in the Rockies: Spring Break 2008 with Holly Gayley & Lodro Rinzler
|
March 23 - 29 This program has been cancelled.
Meditation, Contemplative Arts & the Great Outdoors
This Spring Break, discover something new—about simply being. Being yourself, being in your body, experiencing nature with your raw senses. Meditation is a process of self-discovery that lets you tap into the basic vitality, openness and creativity that we all naturally possess.
In this six-day program, you will get a thorough grounding in the technique of meditation, whether you are a beginner or regular meditator, as well as have the chance to explore meditation in action through contemplative arts, outdoor activities and celebratory events.
Guided by a youthful staff of seasoned artists and practitioners, and set in the serene wonderment of Shambhala Mountain Center, Retreat in the Rockies is sure to be an eventful and outrageous journey. Awaken your senses, spontaneity and spirit with a spring break you will actually remember!
For those ages 18 - 25 only.
Holly Gayley recently joined the Religious Studies department at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she teaches courses on Buddhism. She has been a practitioner in the Shambhala community since 1992 and regularly presents meditation to groups on college campuses. Holly has spent much of the past few years traveling to eastern Tibet for her research on contemporary Buddhist movements.
Lodro Rinzler is a second-generation Shambhala Buddhist practitioner and teacher. During college, Lodro founded Buddhist House at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, and cofounded the Student Buddhist Network. He now serves as executive director of the Shambhala Meditation Center of Boston, and is writing a book on applying traditional Buddhist teachings to an early-twenty-something lifestyle.
The registration date for this program has already passed. |
