Family Camp with Hector MacLean, Kerry MacLean & Lisa Cargerman
|
June 30 - July 6 Enjoy a precious opportunity to celebrate our extended community of families and to practice together while experiencing the beauty of the land at Shambhala Mountain. During the mornings, while your children attend Shotoku or Rites of Passage, take time for yourself to meditate, exercise or relax. During the afternoons and evenings, partake in family activities such as Ikebana, calligraphy, kite flying, storytelling and singing. Join us as we appreciate the richness of our families and our friendships, old and new.
Hector MacLean was trained as a meditation instructor by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Working closely with the Vidyadhara, he helped to establish many programs, including Shambhala Training and Naropa University. He has meditated with his wife and five children for 17 years and leads family meditation programs with them internationally.
Kerry MacLean has directed the Shambhala Children's Rites of Passage for 11 years, both in Boulder and at Shambhala Mountain. The mother of five meditators and author of Peaceful Piggy Meditation and The Family Meditation Book, she travels throughout the United States, Europe and Australia, helping Buddhist communities develop high-quality programs for children and their families. She received a BA in psychology from Naropa University.
Lisa Cargerman, PhD, a child and family psychologist, is the director of the Family Counsel and the Parenting as a Path groups at the Boulder Shambhala Center. She also teaches family yoga and conflict-resolution classes. Lisa, her husband and her three children consistently use meditation techniques to enhance mindfulness in their home.
