Deepen your connection to your practice and open your heart. Intensive practice provides a profoundly fresh view of our lives—-so precious in this increasingly hectic world. Designed for both newcomers and experienced students, this powerful retreat can be done as a whole or in weekly segments. It will include sitting and walking meditation, private interviews with a meditation instructor and contemplative study of the four foundations of mindfulness. Meals will be taken in Zen oryoki style, and periods of silence will be observed.
For a deep immersion into the path of meditation and warriorship, we invite you to attend the entire dathün. You can also participate in one or more of our weeklong segments. Register on this page if you wish to attend Weeks III & IV. If you wish to attend other weeks, you need to register for those separately. Please note in the Comments section at the bottom of the registration page that you will be registering for more than one week.
Acharya Gaylon Ferguson, a member of the core faculty at Naropa University, has led meditation retreats since 1973. His article, Making Friends with Ourselves, was selected for inclusion in The Best Buddhist Writing 2005. His essay No Color, All Colors appears in Mindful Politics.
Due to restrictions on water usage at Shambhala Mountain Center, laundry for participants staying two weeks or more will be done professionally off site. The fee is $20 for those staying for two weeks and $40 for those staying for three weeks. This fee is not included in the total cost of the program below.
