Living at the Threshold: Facing Our Deepest Emotions & Fears with Martin Lassoff, Jun Po Denis Kelly Roshi, Jude Blitz, Luke Entrup & Brian Spielmann (formerly entitled The Way of Emotions: From Shadow to Light)

May 23 - 26

This program has been cancelled.

When standing on a precipice of change—whether a career transition, changing relationship, loss, illness or desire to simply live more deeply—we have a choice as to how we face it. We can react with old habitual patterns, remain reactive in the cycle of the hysterical/historical or become conscious enough to respond compassionately with strength, clarity and heart.

Designed to develop the insight and skill necessary to support a conscious leap into the unknown, this program will combine soul-searching experiential processes that embrace the sadness, fear, anger and joy of the human condition with meditative practices. Working from the shadow to the light, we will discover our inherent richness and strength.

Engage with other men and women committed to conscious living in our two primary training elements: shadow integration and contemplative practice. Experience the potency and power of sitting in a circle with those whose mission is to support each other in discovering a deeper level of truth, authenticity and presence. If you are ready to make a significant change in your life or support others in transition, join us for this catalytic retreat.

Martin Lassoff is a certified leader for the Mankind Project who also teaches Shadow Work® nationwide. By helping individuals connect more deeply and consciously with their emotions, Martin assists them in working with anger, fear and grief; getting support; and breaking through habitual behavioral patterns. He brings his extensive knowledge of meditation and yoga, strong intuition, creativity and sensitivity to this highly personal work.

Over the past 25 years, Martin has manifested his love for the great outdoors through a successful landscaping and gardening business rooted in environmentally sound principles. An avid trekker as well, he has explored India, Bhutan, Peru, Central America and many remote places in North America.

Jun Po Denis Kelly began his Buddhist practice at Zen Center San Francisco in the early ’70s, later becoming a student of Eido Shimano Roshi in New York and subsequently a monk. He received his Zen Master recognition in 1992. Interested in bringing his Zen lineage (Rinzai tradition) into American culture without the Japanese cultural bindings, Jun Po left the monastery and founded the lay Buddhist Hollow Bones order, of which he is abbot. A yoga instructor as well, he traces his lineage to BKS Iyengar and Patabi Jois. He established the Hollow Bones seven-day Zen retreats for the Mankind Project. Diagnosed with Stage IV throat cancer in April 2006, he underwent four months of extensive treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. That treatment was successful and he is currently cancer-free.

Jude Blitz, MA, CHT, grounds her therapy work in the mindfulness-based practice of Hakomi Therapy, as well as Shadow Work® and Systemic Constellation Work. An avid developer of women’s rites' work, she created Reclaim Our Feminine Initiations, and cocreated Women in Power and the Inner Sovereign Trainings.

As an educator and group facilitator, Luke Entrup has created various retreats and programs that promote personal, professional and spiritual transformation. His programs, such as Beyond The Machine and Quarter Passage, combine contemplative practices and the reintegration of "shadow" aspects. A certified Shadow Work® Facilitator, Luke also holds a degree in Contemplative Psychology from Naropa University. Samples of his work include the chapter "Developmental and Spiritual Issues of the Next Generation" in the book
Becoming Visible, published by Columbia University Press, and a leadership development and self-awareness program he offered to male athletes at Southern Oregon University. Luke enjoys volunteering for the ManKind Project and Hospice Austin.
