Family Camp: Registration for Children Eligible for Discounted Rates: Additional Child
|

In order to make the 2008 Family Camp program affordable to as many families as possible, Shambhala Mountain offers reduced rates for children. The rate for the first child in a family is $265 and the rate for all additional children is $215 per child. However, these reduced rates only apply once the room or tent is paid for by the adult(s) and/or another child in the family. Following are some examples that illustrate how this works.
1. Two Adults and Two Children Share One Tent: In this case the adults each pay at the regular tent double rate of $420. Since the tent has now been fully paid for by the adults, the children receive the discounted rates of $265 and $215.
2. Two Adults and Two Children Share Two Tents: Here the least expensive option is for the two adults to each register for tent singles at the regular tent single rate of $505. Since both tents are now paid for by the adults, the children are eligible for the discounted rates of $265 and $215.
3. One Adult and One Child Share a Lodge Single with Private Bath: The adult is charged at the regular Lodge single rate of $1,020 and the child is charged the discounted rate of $265.
Following are examples of such situations in which children are NOT eligible for discounted rates.
4. One Adult and One Child Share a Lodge Double: The adult is charged at the Lodge double rate of $735. Since the adult has paid for just one half of the room, the child is also charged at the Lodge double rate of $735.
5. One Adult and Two Children Share a Lodge Double: The adult and first child are each charged at the Lodge double rate of $735. The second child receives the discounted second child rate of $215.
Children may be charged the full undiscounted rates when the lodging selected is a double room in either the Shambhala Lodge or Red Feather Conference Center, but NOT when the selected housing is a tent.
6. One Adult and One Child Share a Tent: The adult is charged at the tent single rate of $505 and the child is charged at the discounted first child rate of $265.

The $215 rate applies regardless of housing. Select the housing option which corresponds to the adult's housing choice. Please note the names of the other attending family members in the “comments” field of each registration.
