Many of us have experienced moments of awakeness, but long to further embody what we have realized. In this multi-layered workshop, we will train in embodying awakened awareness, exploring tools that support lasting emotional and mental freedom. Using a synergistic practice of meditation, Anusara Yoga, contemplative exercises and inquiry, journaling and transformative emotional work, we will work with the non-dual principles of Kashmir Shaivism, and experience their transformative power directly. As we work with our physical, mental, emotional and energetic bodies, we will transmute that which obstructs our clear seeing and full presence in our everyday life.
Sally Durgananda Kempton was a monk and teacher in the Vedic tradition for nearly 30 years. In 2002, with her teacher's blessing, she put aside her monastic robes to begin teaching independently. From her home base in California, Sally travels extensively, and offers workshops and retreats that integrate meditation, yoga wisdom and spiritual life-skills. Considered a "teacher's teacher" she is known for her ability to inspire long-time practitioners to free themselves from routine meditation practice and deepen their understanding. Sally is also considered adept at transmitting meditation and applying tantric teachings to daily life situations. The author of The Heart of Meditation: Pathways to a Deeper Experience, she also writes the monthly Wisdom column for Yoga Journal.
Jeanie Manchester, an avid student and teacher of yoga since 1990, has studied closely with Richard Freeman and John Friend. She is a certified Anusara teacher and a devoted student of The Rajanka Tantra tradition as taught by her teacher, Dr. Douglas Brooks. Her classes delightfully blend the precision of the universal principles of alignment with story and myth as a means to take us deeper into the mystery and power of the yogic process.
