How to Cheer Up this Very Moment: A Buddhist Approach to a Wonderful Life with Tulku Thondup RinpocheOctober 2 – 5, 2008
The speed and aggression of Western life can leave us feeling stressed, depressed and physically exhausted. We forget the preciousness of human life and the richness of the world in which we live. Through understanding the rarity of a human birth and the nature of suffering, learning how to work with our negative emotions and habitual patterns, and developing sacred view, we can cheer up this very moment, regardless of our current situation. We come to realize that negative emotions and habits cause unhappiness, while virtues create merit, the seeds of happiness. In this workshop, we will practice meditation, access the four healing qualities of the mind—positive images, words, feelings and beliefs—and explore the power of sound vibrations and movement to discover our inherent wellness. You’ll return home with a mind that is naturally peaceful and open, a loving and positive attitude, and a warm and joyful energy.
Tulku Thondup Rinpoche was born in Tibet and trained at the Dodrupchen Monastery. He fled to India in 1958 and came to the United States in 1980 as a visiting scholar at Harvard University. Author of Boundless Healing, Masters of Meditation and Miracles and Peaceful Death, Joyful Rebirth: A Tibetan Buddhist Guidebook, Tulku teaches throughout the United States and Europe.
