Appreciating all aspects of our lives is an art. An artist uses that appreciation to create representations of what we see, hear, feel, taste, touch, and think. This is a sacred communication between ourselves and the universe, between an artist and their witnesses. Developing awareness and compassion increases the flow of deep experience. It is in our nature to want to share that experience with others, and creating art is the perfect medium.
Shambhala Mountain Center offers courses in contemplative and expressive arts such as poetry, photography, theater, and flower arranging that capture the “art of everyday life” in a fresh and open way. By practicing these disciplines, we gently increase our awareness of ourselves and the world and expand our skills when working with others.
