Many world religions have encouraged individuals to become monks or nuns. Although monasticism is very natural, in some sense, it's also a heightened or rarefied level of existence. In the Shambhala teachings, our main concern is working with society.
— Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
Both blissful and challenging, relationships are an integral part of spiritual practice, providing an unparalleled mirror through which we can see and know ourselves. Awakening our hearts and minds is not a solo activity; it is a path we walk together. Without interaction, we would never receive teachings, good counsel, community support, or essential feedback. Whether together as intimate partners, family, friends, or community, the path of relationships is as necessary as it is enriching.
Shambhala Mountain Center offers a range of programs that work both with our inner experience, to help us open up to others, and with the outer manifestations of family, community, and society-at-large.
