The Art of Listening Yoga and Meditation Retreat with Wendy Bramlett

April 24 – 26, 2009

It is by connecting to subtler and subtler sensations of the body that we will feel more and more alive.
Sensation is the language of the body. At first, it can seem that we are hard of hearing and that we require louder or stronger sensations in order to feel at all. Yet as we cultivate sensitivity and subtlety in our yoga practice, we become more engaged with the whispering communications of the body and observe its wisdom speaking quietly and clearly. A refined capacity for listening is awakened. We begin to notice the quality of our movement improving, our tissues opening more easily, and our nervous system calmed by the stirrings of awareness directed into the deep layers of the body. We strengthen our ability to be increasingly responsive and alive inside. With our efforts gently and mindfully placed, our yoga becomes less muscular, more soulful, and thoroughly rejuvenating. This program is open to all levels.

Wendy Bramlett is the founder of Studio Be Yoga in Boulder, Colorado. She became involved with the study and practice of yoga at the age of 18, and has been teaching for 28 years. Wendy’s creative teaching style reflects her deep understanding of the body, and emphasizes the dynamic interplay of focused action and receptive awareness.
