Earth, Water, & Sun Series: Contemplative Hiking with Kay PetersonJune 26 – 28, 2009
At Shambhala Mountain Center, the land and other natural elements merge with our minds to create an unparalleled experience. This Retreat & Renewal weekend is designed especially for those who would like to explore the land and surrounding peaks of Roosevelt National Forest on foot. We will engage in meditation and hiking as a contemplative practice, exploring trails that range from a mild to moderate degree of difficulty. Yoga and other activities for renewing the body and mind will also be included.
Kay Peterson is a psychotherapist and wilderness guide who facilitates contemplative outdoor adventures in the mountain and coastal ranges of the west. She has designed programs and nurtured organizational collaborations with companies such as Outward Bound, USA, and Balanced Rock Foundation that integrate the power of outdoor adventure experiences with the depth of meditative awareness. She is currently working with the regional leadership of Northern California Shambhala to continue to develop sustainable and enlightened community in Northern California and beyond. Kay will also be leading a three night contemplative hiking program August 6 to 9.
Extend Your Stay. We are offering a 25% housing discount for additional nights. Come early and relax before your program starts or stay an extra day or more after this program to savor your retreat experience.
