This program has been canceled.

Interdependence is the wisdom foundation of the Buddhist path and is the antidote with which we can heal false concepts of separation. It is a way of seeing the world as intimately connected with our selves, and encourages a deep communion with the environment. In this workshop we will explore the view of interdependence from traditional Buddhist philosophy and how it can change the way we view nature and our place in it. Using the ancient theory of the five elements as our guide, we will learn meditative techniques that promote both individual and environmental well-being while reclaiming our deep connection with nature.

Nicholas Egan holds a master's degree in Comparative Religion and is currently a PhD candidate in Buddhist studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. A practicing Buddhist for more than 15 years, he regularly leads spiritual journeys throughout Asia and is coauthor of a forthcoming book on Buddhist views of the natural world.

Please arrive between 2 and 5pm on Friday, September 4. Program ends with lunch at 12:30pm on Sunday, September 6. View Detailed Program Information.
