Touching the Moment: Indelible Presence with Acharya Dale Asrael & Cynthia Moku

May 19 – 23, 2010

"Through practice, we develop new eyes and new ears." —Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
Uniquely blending meditation, contemplative arts, sensory awareness practices in nature, and hatha yoga, this retreat will provide a rich practice environment in which we can shed conditioned habit patterns and rediscover the world with fresh perception. As we investigate the four elements of our inner and outer worlds, we will open ourselves to the fullness of life. Experimenting with movement, rhythm, gesture, and balance will be an integral part of our exploration.

Dale will also be teaching Taming the Wild Horse: Riding the Energy of Emotions May 27 – 31.

Acharya Dale Asrael has been leading meditation retreats internationally since 1980, focusing on the practices of the three yanas of Buddhadharma. An associate professor at Naropa University in the Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, Buddhist Studies and Contemplative Education departments, she also trains meditation instructors who wish to serve in hospices, prisons and homeless shelters.

Cynthia Moku has been practicing the art of Japanese brush since 1994 and the art of Buddhist scroll painting since 1974. She was a student of Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche and continues her meditation training with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, for whom she paints iconography of the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition. The founder of Naropa University’s Visual Art Degree Program, Cynthia teaches there as a senior adjunct professor in a variety of disciplines and academic studies. Her artwork is exhibited in the Buddhist Art collection of the Denver Art Museum.
