Pushpa Childcare

Childcare during the summer of 2010 is being offered on a limited basis.

Due to our exceptionally busy summer schedule, our usual Shotoku Children's Center program will not be held in 2010. This summer's Pushpa Childcare will be limited in scope and restricted to certain dates.

Pushpa Childcare service is available for part of the summer children ages 3 to 15 whose parents are program participants or staff. Children spend six hours per day under staff care in mixed-age groups. Parents are responsible for their children outside of Pushpa Childcare hours. Therefore, parents may need to give up some program time or bring a nanny. The cost for Pushpa Childcare is $40 per day for the first child and $35 each additional child.

The Pushpa Childcare dates are as follows:

June 1 – 27: Childcare is available to children of all program participants and staff.

June 27 – July 18: During these dates Pushpa Childcare is available only to children of Vajrayana Seminary participants and staff, and children who will be attending Sun Camp. No childcare is available for Scorpion Seal Assembly participants.

July 18 – August 23: No childcare is available.

August 24 – Sept 1: Childcare is available to children of all program participants and staff.

Throughout the summer parents who bring a nanny for their children (and do not use Pushpa Childcare) will pay just $20 per day rather than our regular Pushpa rate of $40 per day. Nannys will be charged 50% of our usual rates for lodging and meals.

Registration

All children coming to the Center must be registered for Pushpa Childcare or be coming with a dedicated nanny. If your child will be attending Pushpa Childcare register by clicking on the red "Lodging & Register" box below. When you get to Step 3 of the registration process there will be an opportunity to add information in a "comments" field. Please enter your child's arrival and departure dates in this area. Also, please note the name of the parent(s) who will be caring for your child.

When you register you will be charged the total amount due, including each night of your child's stay.
