Conscious Caregiving with Ann Cason

February 4 – 6, 2011

A regenerative weekend of mindful caring for the caregiver.
This program has been canceled.

The natural ebb of life force is a genuine and precious part of human experience. Watching this can be like standing on the beach at night, while the tide rolls out - we feel lonely, and the effect is haunting and hard to fathom. As caregivers we face burnout, confusion, and resistance, often wondering how to respect the dignity of both ourselves and our loved ones. We will draw upon discussion, exercises, and mutual support to illuminate how we can care for each other in ways that in turn allow us to provide support to those in need. By learning how to enter, enrich and exit the worlds of those we look after, we can transform the path of caregiving into a journey of mindfulness and reward.

Ann Cason, author of Circles of Care: How to Create Quality Home Care for Our Elders, has spent over thirty years as a practitioner of Shambhala Buddhism. The former co-founder and Director of Dana Home Care, she currently serves as Director of Circles of Care.

Please arrive between 2 and 5pm on Friday, February 4. Program ends with lunch at 12:30pm on Sunday, February 6. View Detailed Program Information.
