Freedom, Joy & the Five Recollections: A Vipassana/Metta Meditation Retreat with Lloyd Burton & Terry Ray

October 5 – 8, 2006

Explore the daily contemplation of aging, infirmity, death, loss and the karmic consequences of our actions as a way to realize spiritual freedom and the joy of letting go.
The Buddha advised daily contemplation of aging, infirmity, death, loss and the karmic consequences of our actions as a way to realize spiritual freedom and the joy of letting go. In this retreat, using both meditation practices of insight from the Theravadan tradition and lovingkindness meditations, we will bring our attention to this seeming paradox and explore the possibility of tasting that same joy and freedom.

Lloyd Burton is cofounder of the Insight Meditation Community of Colorado and Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Terry Ray teaches meditation through the Insight Meditation Community and at Naropa University. Both are graduates of the Community Dharma Leader Program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
