Whether we choose to call it a spiritual path, or a warrior’s training, its ultimate destination is the same—the realization of sacred wisdom. This is not merely a conventional understanding of wisdom based on experience, but of wisdom that exists primordially before we ever experience anything. Sacredness here is not a dualistic or religious notion, but a simple, complete realization of things as they truly are. It does not seem to depend on a Creator to make it so. It is so because our wisdom experiences it as so, beyond any argument or debate. These are the core issues we will explore in this weekend of lectures, discussion, guided meditation and poetry.

Frank Berliner is a core faculty member at Naropa University, where he teaches Buddhist and Western humanistic psychology. A long-standing student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, he has served as national director for Shambhala Training. He maintains a private practice as a psychotherapist and organizational consultant in Boulder, Colorado.
