Death as a Spiritual Teacher with David ChernikoffAugust 17 – 19, 2007
The spiritual path has been described as a constant process of opening and letting go. Learning to embrace the impermanent nature of all things is a central task of conscious living. In this retreat, we will combine quiet mornings of insight meditation with deep inquiry into our relationship with death and dying. In a caring, supportive environment, we will come to terms with our own mortality and discover new ways to celebrate our lives.
David Chernikoff, MDiv, LCSW, is a meditation teacher, spiritual counselor and psychotherapist who teaches primarily for the Insight Meditation Community of Colorado and Naropa University. As the former director of education and training for the Spiritual Eldering Institute, he has taught conscious aging programs throughout the United States. David is also teaching Aging & Awakening: Dancing with the Darkness & the Light May 25 - 27 and Waking Up Together: Creating Contemplative Residential Communities August 2 - 5.
