Windhorse: Horses & the Power of Our True Nature with Jackie Ashley & Jim Tolstrup

May 29 – June 1, 2008

Through working with these majestic animals, we can discover their qualities in ourselves as well—power, grace, dignity and freedom.
This program has been cancelled.

Through the powerful and magical presence of horses and the practice of sitting meditation, we will connect deeply with the true essence of our own windhorse, or the living energy we all possess and long to express fully in the world. Embodying this energy, power, grace, dignity and freedom, these majestic animals mirror and inspire these qualities within us. Challenging our relationship to fear, confidence and courage, horses help us discover the direct connection between fear and fearlessness. No experience with horses is necessary.

Jackie Ashley is a somatic psychotherapist and senior clinician with Windhorse Community Services. EAGALA level 1-certified, she has been utilizing horses in her practice since 2001. Jackie is adjunct faculty at Naropa University, teaching body-based meditation practice and creative-arts therapies.

Jim Tolstrup, a director of Shambhala Training and longtime student of indigenous wisdom traditions, has led numerous workshops focusing on meditation and the development of a sacred outlook toward environmental stewardship. Jim is the executive director of the High Plains Environmental Center in Loveland, Colorado.

Please arrive between 2 and 5pm on Thursday, May 29. Program ends with lunch at 12:30pm on Sunday, June 1. View Detailed Program Information.
