Shambhala Sutrayana Seminary with Acharya Gaylon Ferguson & Joanne Martin Braun

June 14 – 29, 2008

Deepen your study and practice of the Shambhala Buddhist teachings during this two-week intensive.
Serving as a gateway to a deeper understanding of and commitment to the Shambhala Buddhist lineage, Shambhala Sutrayana Seminary provides qualified practitioners a two-week immersion in the Hinayana and Mahayana Buddhist teachings, within a unique Shambhala context. Join us for this intensive, which will feature meditation; study and contemplation; and traditional post-meditation practices such as oryoki, rota, Shambhala arts and celebrations.

Completion of Shambhala Sutrayana Seminary provides the necessary preparation for Shambhala Vajrayana Seminary, the gateway to the Vajrayana transmissions and teachings of Sakyong Jamgön Mipham Rinpoche and his father, Ven. Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

Prerequisites: Meditation Instructor recommendation and Shambhala School of Buddhist Studies or equivalent

Acharya Gaylon Ferguson, a member of the core faculty at Naropa University, has led meditation retreats since 1973. His article, "Making Friends with Ourselves," was selected for inclusion in The Best Buddhist Writing 2005. His essay "No Color, All Colors" appears in the book Mindful Politics.

Joanne Martin Braun has been a student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche since 1978 and is now a student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. She has taught Shambhala Training for over 20 years. Since 1995, Joanne has been teaching Shambhala Buddhist principles and meditation programs at hospitals and businesses.
