Program Coordinator

Department: Programs

Reports to: Programs Manager

General Summary of Function: Organize, plan, and deliver teaching programs with a high level of professionalism and leadership. We are currently looking to fill this position from March 2010 through the end of August 2010.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Act as the main program contact

• Be the interface between SMC , program director and participants before, during and after programs .

• Be an advocate for both the program’s needs and SMC’s needs

• Organize and delegate the work required by each department to deliver a successful program.

• Manifest as a leader and example in our Staff Community

• Work with appropriate decorum and form

• Uphold the Shambhala Mountain Center vow

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, flexible and able to work well with many different kinds of people and under pressure.

• Computer skills using Microsoft Office

• Good communication skills

Experience/ Education/ Certification Requirement


• Ideal applicants will have completed Sutrayana Seminary and/or Warrior Assembly

Shambhala Mountain Center offers a reasonable monthly stipend plus living accommodations and meals, health and dental benefits, sick and vacation time, and all staff are able to take advantage of teaching programs, classes, and daily meditation practice for free.
