Volunteer, Internship & Core Staff Opportunities

We are seeking an individual to serve as an Assistant in our Practice and Education Department. This position is half-time Staff Path coordination and half-time assistant to the Director.

This position reports to the Director of Practice and Education, and is responsible for all education related activities for the summer (arranging classes, finding instructors, and teaching if applicable), in addition, this position also helps with the general functioning of the Practice & Education office & helps the other summer assistant when needed with program set-up. The Assistant will also provide administrative support to the Director.
The successful candidate will possess computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite, and be able to work creatively with fabric, picture frames, and shrine furniture. There is physical effort involved in these tasks, so the ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds is necessary. Completion of Shambhala Training through Level III is required; preference will be given to an individual who is already a Meditation Instructor/and or teacher in the Shambhala community.

The position is available late May 2010 through early August 2010, carrying a $100/month stipend and room and board.
