Visiting the Stupa
No Stupa Tours July 2-16
Please note that there will be limited access to Shambhala Mountain Center between July 2-16. You may visit the Stupa during these times, but we will not be offering tours, and the Gift Store and lunch will not be available. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you can come visit during a different time, if possible.
The Great Stupa of Dharmakaya is open to visitors daily from 9:00am to 6:00pm. You can visit the Stupa at any time without prior registration, although it is a good idea to call in advance (970-881-2184, ext. 454) to see if the Stupa is closed for a special event. Guided tours are also available.
Public tours are offered Saturday and Sunday at 2:00pm. If you are interested in arranging a private group tour, please contact us, ideally a week ahead of time, at stupatours@shambhalamountain.org or 970-881-2184, ext. 454.
Please plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before the start of the tour to allow time to park and register. The Stupa is a 20-minute walk from the parking lot; parking permits are available for those who need to drive for health reasons. A $10 donation is suggested for visiting the Stupa ($8 for seniors and students). You are also welcome to join us for lunch between 12:30pm and 1:30pm ($10 per person).
Please wear comfortable shoes and bring sun protection. Also bring a water bottle, as we are located at 8,000 feet and it is easy to become dehydrated. Please remember that dogs are not allowed at Shambhala Mountain Center because of their impact on the wildlife.
