Are you ready to befriend your body and define your own image of what it means to be happy, healthy, and beautiful? Do you long to free yourself from the mental tyranny that accompanies striving for an unattainable body image? Whether you suffer from low self-esteem, a distorted body image, or are one of the 10 million women in the U.S. who have grappled with anorexia, bulimia, or compulsive exercise, you will receive the support and information you need to turn your life around. Through yoga, meditation, journaling, visualizations, creative movement, storytelling, and group practices, you will taste a fresh and ecstatic connection to life and learn to love your body—one of the best friends that you will ever have.

Sara Avant Stover, founder of a 500-hour Yoga Alliance school, The Living Yoga Initiative, has been practicing yoga and meditation since 1995. Now based in Boulder, Colorado, she lived in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 1999-2008, where she served as a pioneer in Southeast Asia’s yoga community. Specializing in the spiritual upliftment of women, she has taught thousands of students in over a dozen countries. Having suffered from eating disorders as a young woman, Sara found a path of self-healing through yoga, Ayurveda, and Insight Meditation. Also a prolific writer, Sara’s work has been published in Yoga Journal, Fit Yoga, Pilates Style, Natural Solutions, and The Huffington Post.

Peach Friedman, a spokesperson for the National Eating Disorders Association, is the author of Diary of an Exercise Addict. She is a nationally recognized educator and intuitive fitness specialist, focusing on health and wellness for women. Her approach to the moving body prioritizes awareness and pleasure, and guides women toward a balanced relationship with fitness that is void of guilt, fear, and punishment. Her book recounts her own descent into and inspiring recovery from anorexia and compulsive exercise, and has received international acclaim. She lectures regularly at universities and conferences, and teaches at Summit Eating Disorders Program in Sacramento, CA. She has been featured twice in People magazine, as well as on The View, 20/20, and Oprah’s Radio Network.
