Brush Spirit: The Expressive Art of Calligraphy

Barbara Bash

April 19–21, 2013

Tuition $180 + 2 nights

The practice of calligraphy, the beautiful writing of the world, brings us into alignment with ourselves so that true expression can occur. In this workshop we will begin with the ancient Chinese straight line practice for grounding and stabilizing, then move to larger brushes, bigger paper and free form strokes based on the principles of heaven, earth and human. Bringing what is inside out onto the page opens creative pathways and nourishes the present moment. An interest in visual language grounded in the body is the only prerequisite.

Tuition includes materials.
