Enlightened Society Assembly

July 1–11, 2019

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Please read these important details before registering

Participation: Participation in the entire Assembly is required.

Application: In addition to registering with Shambhala Mountain Center, you must submit an application to the Shambhala International Office of Practice and Education by May 6, 2019. Find the application HERE.

Registration Deadline: The deadline for registering for Enlightened Society Assembly at the current price is May 20, 2019. After this deadline a late registration fee of $125 will be added

Payment: A deposit of 50% of the total program cost is due upon registration. The full remaining balance is due on June 1, 2019, 1 month prior to your arrival date.

Cancellation Policy: This cancellation policy for Enlightened Society Assembly supersedes all other SMC cancellation policies.

If you cancel 14 or more calendar days prior to your arrival date, June 17, 2019, payments made will be refunded in full (less a 5% processing fee). If you cancel between 13 and 2 calendar days prior to your scheduled arrival date, nonrefundable program credit in the amount paid will be available for you to use for two years from the initial date of issue.  Program credit may not be applied to any amounts previously paid for past or future programs. No credit or refund is available (1) if you cancel the day prior to your arrival day or on your scheduled arrival day, (2) if you do not show up, or (3) if you leave a program or event early. No refund will be available if you attend a program and are dissatisfied with its presentation or content. These provisions also apply to the cancellation of (1) additional nights booked before or after a program’s official arrival and departure dates and (2) housing downgrades.

Materials Fee: There will be a materials fee in addition to the tuition that all participants will be required to pay prior to the Assembly. This fee is currently being finalized.  You will be informed of the exact amount in your acceptance letters (previous years’ materials fees have been approximately $130). This is a required cost.

Financial Aid:  Shambhala Mountain Center encourages all financial aid applicants to seek financial support from The Offering Bowl or other similar fundraising websites. You may apply for Financial Aid through Shambhala International, using the form provided within the program application here. Financial aid cannot be combined with any other form of price-break.

Shambhala Benefits: Please refer to your acceptance letter to determine which Shambhala Benefits you have been approved for. Also, please refer to your center to determine what Shambhala Benefits are. Please note that the following are current benefits that are subject to change. Shambhala Benefits are typically for full or part-time paid employees of Shambhala (benefits differ). Shambhala Benefits are for Tent Double housing. If you would like to upgrade your housing, you must pay the upgrade fees. If you have questions about Shambhala Benefits, please send an email to registrar@shambhalamountain.org. If you are eligible for Shambhala Benefits, please select Tent Double as your housing, write your intention in the Comments/Special Needs section of the SMC registration form, and choose “Pay by check.”

Laundry: No laundry service will be provided during this program.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have registered with Shambhala Mountain Center, but have not submitted an online application to the Office of Practice and Education as of May 6, 2019 we will assume that you have decided not to attend Enlightened Society Assembly, and you will be removed from the Shambhala Mountain Center registration list.

Attending Enlightened Society Assembly is a two-part process that includes both applying to the program with the Shambhala International Office of Practice and Education, and registering with Shambhala Mountain Center. The application deadline is May 6, 2019. After this date, the program will be closed to new applicants. The SMC registration deadline is May 20, 2019.
