Enlightened Society: The I Ching as a Map of Social Evolution

Shastri Samten Kobelt and Eva Wong

October 29–31, 2010

Tuition $185 + 2 nights

The I Ching, one of the world’s most ancient wisdom texts, is a compelling vision of a healthy society that is deeply integrated into the natural and spiritual worlds. The text presents a complete visualization of how the worlds of Heaven, Earth and humankind can be integrated into Enlightened Society.

The program will introduce Daniel Hessey’s unique translation of the I Ching from the Chinese original. Done under the supervision of Eva Wong, the translation and commentary joins the profound view of Shambhala with the original text to reveal the I Ching as a coherent, integrated process map of human society. Eva Wong will present the opening talk of this program.

This weekend initiates an inspiring experiential journey that will open and deepen your understanding of how to lead a truly integral life and help create a good human society on this Earth. The classes and exercises will help demystify ancient language and metaphor, explain the sequence of the hexagrams, and discuss the role of each hexagram to the whole. The course will combine learning, discussion, invocational ceremonies, meditation and qigong. Samten Kobelt will lead us in qigong practice. No previous experience is required.

You will come away from this program with powerful new transformational tools that will help you meet the pressing modern challenges—personal, societal, and ecological—that face awake people throughout the world.
