Feeding Your Demons
Charlotte Rotterdam and Pieter Oosthuizen
April 27–29, 2012
Feeding Your Demons is a powerful and profound method for working with—rather than fighting against—the obstacles, conflicts and challenges of our life. By meeting our fears and obsessions, and giving them what they need, we allow them to transform into insight that is beneficial to ourselves and others. Drawing on traditional practices and teachings of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, this process was developed by Lama Tsultrim Allione. The weekend will include teachings, meditation, discussion and practice in the process of Feeding Your Demons, so that these tools can be useful on a daily basis.
Charlotte Rotterdam teaches Buddhism and meditation in the US and abroad, and was authorized to teach by Lama Tsultrim Allione. She is an Instructor and Director of the Center for the Advancement of Contemplative Education at Naropa University. The mother of two boys, she has published essays on the intersection of spiritual practice and motherhood in Mandala and in an anthology, Fearless Nest. Charlotte received her Masters in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School..
Pieter Oosthuizen is a senior student of Lama Tsultrim Allione and has been teaching Feeding your Demons, Prajna Paramita and meditation for the last five years. He is committed to integrating the vast view offered by these teachings with practical applications to daily life. A long-time student of Tibetan Buddhism, Pieter received his Law degree in his native South Africa. Former executive director of Tara Mandala Retreat Center, he currently serves on its Board of Directors.
