Kapala Training Level I: Feeding your Demons with Pieter Oosthuizen & Charlotte Rotterdam
Charlotte Rotterdam and Pieter Oosthuizen
May 27–June 1, 2011
Feeding your Demons is a powerful and profound method for working with rather than fighting the obstacles, conflicts, and challenges of our lives. By meeting our fears and obsessions and nurturing their underlying needs, we allow them to transform into allies, insight and wisdom. Drawing on traditional practices and teachings of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, this process was developed by Lama Tsultrim Allione, a Western Buddhist teacher and author of Feeding Your Demons: Ancient Wisdom for Resolving Inner Conflict.
This extended retreat also introduces the Prajna Paramita meditation practice which invites us to awaken to the ultimate nature of mind. A concise and profound practice developed by Lama Tsultrim Allione, this meditation fosters a spacious view to hold the personal work of Feeding your Demons. Our time together will also allow for deepening and expanding our understanding of the Feeding your Demons process, including partnering and ally work. The retreat includes teachings, sitting meditation, discussion, and practice in the actual process of Feeding your Demons, so that it may become of use to us on a daily basis. No previous experience or knowledge of Buddhism or meditation is necessary.
The full retreat constitutes a Kapala Level I training, the first in a series of four in-depth trainings in Feeding your Demons, Prajña Paramita and the lineage of Machig Labdrön, developed by Lama Tsultrim. Completion of Kapala Training Level I qualifies participants to continue studying with Lama Tsultrim Allione in higher training levels.
