From July 15 – 26, 2018 there will be a gathering of Scorpion Seal Assemblies III, IV, V, and VII. This will create a potent mandala of practice, study, and celebration of the Scorpion Seal path.

Completing all required practice sessions is a prerequisite for attending the next Scorpion Seal Assembly retreat. Please indicate on the registration form if you have finished all required sessions or, if not, your intention for finishing them before attending this Assembly.

Shambhala Mountain Center will verify that you have previously attended the Scorpion Seal Assembly Year preceding the retreat you register for.

Lodge rooms are limited and will sell out for this event. To reserve a lodge room, please register and submit a deposit as soon as possible. Even if lodge rooms are shown to be available on the website your spot will not be locked in until your check or credit card payment is processed.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: May 20, 2018, 8 weeks prior to start date. Tuition has increased by $125 to $810.

Acharya Judith Simmer-Brown

Acharya Judith Simmer-Brown, Ph.D., is Distinguished Professor of Contemplative and Religious Studies at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, where she has taught since 1978.  As Buddhist practitioner since the early 1970’s, she became a student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche in 1974, and was empowered as an acharya (senior teacher) by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche in 2000. Her teaching specialties are meditation practice, Shambhala teachings, Buddhist philosophy, tantric Buddhism, and contemplative higher education.  Her book, Dakini’s Warm Breath (Shambhala 2001), explores the feminine principle as it reveals itself in meditation practice and everyday life for women and men.  She has also edited Meditation and the Classroom: Contemplative Pedagogy for Religious Studies (SUNY 2011). She had her husband, Richard, have two adult children and three grandchildren.

Acharya Susan Chapman

Acharya Susan Chapman, author of The Five Keys To Mindful Communication, is a retired family therapist, contemplative psychologist and meditation teacher. She completed Gampo Abbey’s three year retreat and served as Druppon, retreat leader, for six years.

Acharya Michael Greenleaf

Acharya Greenleaf began his dharma practice as a teenager in 1974. In 2005, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche appointed Michael as an Acharya or Senior Teacher in the Shambhala lineage. He is a CPA and holds a MBA from New York University. His work focus is nonprofit marketing and development.

Ashe Acharya John Rockwell

Ashe Acharya John Rockwell has been a student of the Shambhala and Buddhist path for over 40 years. His main inspiration is to help people open their heart and senses through meditation and bring awareness to everyday life, the natural world, and social change. He also practices and teaches Daoist qigong to loosen up the body for sitting still and moving with ease. He now lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia with his wife, Rhiannon Wells, and travels internationally to teach.
