Mahasangha Gathering, July 22-25

Join us for a gathering on the land at Shambhala Mountain Center to practice, to dialogue, to vision, and to celebrate SMC’s 50th anniversary. The program will be modular with opportunities to engage in a practice track of your choice and attend dharma talks and workshops, contemplative arts and movement, and facilitated dialogues related to the past, present, and future of our community in the broadest sense. The program will also include downtime and opportunities for socializing, enjoying the natural beauty of Shambhala Mountain Center, and networking between and among practitioners. All are welcome who feel connected to the Shambhala teachings and legacy of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, regardless of teacher, practice stream, or inspiration. There will be an option to register for the Mahasangha Gathering and Werma Assembly at SMC in tandem.

Note: We will be socially distanced and modular in order to create a safe container in line with CDC and state COVID protocols. Vaccine for all participants is strongly encouraged. COVID policy will be included in registration.

Regional Werma Assemblies

Shambhala Mountain Center, July 25-31
Faculty:  Agness Au, Gaylon Ferguson, Loden Nyima

Dorje Denma Ling, July 21- 25
Faculty: TBA in the coming weeks

This is an open invitation to join a regional Werma Assembly at Shambhala Mountain Center or Dorje Denma Ling this summer. Focused on the Werma Sadhana, these assemblies are an opportunity to enter further or refresh a connection to the Shambhala terma and Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s teaching streams. This will be a reunion of warriors to celebrate together, find healing in community, deepen our practice, and receive instruction on the Werma Sadhana in a retreat setting. It is open to those who have already received the Werma Sadhana and to those who have fulfilled preliminary requirements and wish to receive the Werma Sadhana and transmissions. More information is below about online participation and the application process for first time recipients of the Werma Sadhana.  Please note: full participation either in-person or online is required.

Online Participation: Werma Assembly Only
Online participation will be offered for both the DDL and SMC Werma Assemblies. In-person and online participants will also have access to an archive of recordings from both programs. We well understand that regardless of what public health precautions are recommended and taken for the pandemic by the time of this program, there is a spectrum of vulnerability, risk, and personal choice for what will feel wise for each individual.  If you wish to participate online from home for any reason we warmly encourage you to do so. We will be offering an online option for the Werma Assemblies for this reason, and out of deep caution and respect for the safety of all participants, very much invite you to choose this option if that is best.  Please know you will be supported in so doing.

Prerequisite for Werma Assembly

For First-Time Recipients of the Werma Sadhana

The preliminaries for receiving the Werma Sadhana at this program are Shambhala Training up through and including Warrior Assembly. However, we realize these are unusually difficult times and many practitioners may not have had access to these teachings over the past years, or may have needed to pause, reflect, or wait to see options for how the Shambhala path would continue before making decisions. If you are inspired to receive the Werma Sadhana at this summer’s program and have not completed through Warrior Assembly, but have a strong connection to the Shambhala teachings and the support of a local teacher, we warmly encourage you to apply and include an additional letter from such a local teacher outlining how you will be supported in your practice of the Shambhala teachings.

The application for first-time recipients of the Werma Sadhana is May 31st for those wishing to attend the Werma Assembly at Shambhala Mountain Center. One can find the application at this link.

Tiered Tuition and Scholarships

These programs offer tiered pricing to accommodate most instances of financial need. If you would be unable to attend the online program at the low end of the scale, we do have a limited number of scholarships available for those attending the online Werma Assembly only.

Due to the loss of financial revenue from the 2020 wildfire and the global pandemic shutdown, scholarships are available only for SMC online programs at this time. If we are able to provide scholarships for land (in-person) programs, we will announce those opportunities as soon as they arise. Details forthcoming.

If you are able to attend one of the programs at the Supporter Level, thank you for helping others attend.
