5-Day Silent Mindfulness Retreat
April 28–May 3, 2020
This program has been cancelled due to current CDC recommendations regarding Covid-19. It will be offered again August 25th-30th. Janet will also be offering a 7-day mindfulness retreat June 26th-July 3rd.
All of us have an innate capacity to experience well-being, resilience, and unconditional kindness. In order to enhance this capacity, we will directly explore the power of mind and heart in a silent and supportive atmosphere.
This secular retreat will be offered in the tradition of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction as taught through the Center for Mindfulness at University of Massachusetts Medical School and in many places around the world. It will include guided meditation instruction, talks, periods of sitting and walking meditation, mindful yoga, and an opportunity to discuss your practice in small group audiences. It can be a profound and strengthening opportunity to meet oneself in this kind of supported, extended, compassionate silent retreat setting.
Janet Solyntjes, MA, is a Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher and has been leading silent meditation retreats in the U.S. and internationally for over 25 years. She provides online study groups and individual mentoring to mindfulness teachers-in-training and has been on the faculty of Naropa University, the Center for Mindfulness, and the Engaged Mindfulness Institute.
Janet facilitates the annual donothing retreat for entrepreneurs and supports business leaders and teams in the integration of mindfulness into workplace settings.
