If your preferred lodging type is not available please register for an available option and then indicate your lodging preference under “Room Waitlist.” If your lodging preference becomes available we will offer you the upgrade. Lodge Housing will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.

Land Closure Policy:

Due to the nature of this program, family members or friends of Scorpion Seal participants are not permitted to stay at Shambhala Mountain Center from July 13th to July 24th.

Participation in the entire Assembly is required.


To reserve your spot, 50% of lodging cost and 50% of tuition deposit is due upon registration.

The full remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your arrival date

Cancellation Policy: 

If you cancel 14 or more calendar days prior to your arrival date, payments made will be refunded in full (less a 5% processing fee). If you cancel between 13 and 2 calendar days prior to your scheduled arrival date, nonrefundable program credit in the amount paid will be available for you to use for two years from the initial date of issue.  Program credit may not be applied to any amounts previously paid for past or future programs.No credit or refund is available (1) if you cancel the day prior to your arrival day or on your scheduled arrival day, (2) if you do not show up, or (3) if you leave a program or event early. No refund will be available if you attend a program and are dissatisfied with its presentation or content. These provisions also apply to the cancellation of (1) additional nights booked before or after a program’s official arrival and departure dates and (2) housing downgrades.

Materials Fee:

The materials fee for the 2019 SSA VI has yet to be confirmed but is estimated at $190.00 USD, not including shipping. This is a required cost, not included in the tuition.

Financial Aid:

Shambhala Mountain Center encourages all financial aid applicants to seek financial support from The Offering Bowl or other similar fundraising website. You may apply for Financial Aid using the form provided by clicking here. Financial aid cannot be combined with any other form of price-break.Financial Aid applications are due June 13, 2019.

If you would like to upgrade your housing, you must pay the upgrade. No laundry service will be provided during this program.

Acharya Suzann Duquette

Suzann Duquette is Resident Acharya and former co-director of Karmê Chöling. She teaches Shambhala meditation retreats widely, and has been faculty or lead Acharya for Scorpion Seal Assemblies since 2009. Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche appointed Acharya Duquette as Rupa Acharya in 2012. In this post, she is responsible for fostering ritual training and sacred forms in Shambhala.

Program Details

Arrival and registration is between 10am and 5pm on Arrival Day for participants. All participants and volunteer staff must check in at our Guest Registration house. Please arrive before 5:00 p.m. to check in and settle into your accommodations. Departure will be after breakfast on Departure Day.

Travel Information:

Direct, shuttle-bus transportation to and from Denver International Airport is available on designated arrival and departure days for this program.
