Wisdom of the Sword
May 30–June 1, 2014
In the mountains of Japan, there live beings called Tengu. They may be real or they may just be a way of describing a particular state of mind. It is said that the Tengu protect the innocent, punish the wicked and teach master swordsmanship to the worthy. In this time together, we will study the physical aspects of Japanese swordsmanship, learn a series of practice moves, and perhaps invite a Tengu or two to instruct us on the right use of swordsmanship in the world today. This transformative art will help bring calmness in action to our lives, refining our movement and allowing our inner power to be more gracefully expressed.
