Young Sangha Meditation Retreat
January 13–16, 2017
Please join us for a Young Sangha Meditation Retreat at Shambhala Mountain Center, for sangha in their late-teens, twenties and thirties. (This includes sangha 18 and over. Sangha 16 or 17 years old may attend with prior approval from SMC). We will be living as a close community during the retreat and will plan our activities together so as to include everyone. The common aims of this retreat will be to practice meditation together, build community and to support each other in these practices. We will provide meditation instruction for those who are new to the practice, and we will meditate in the Great Stupa of Dharmakaya as part of the retreat.
This retreat is open to new and experienced meditators alike. If you are looking for intensive meditation training, you might want to look for a Shambhala Training Level One, or a Learn to Meditate weekend. Although we will meditate often, this retreat is more social in nature.
If you are 16 or 17 years old and interested in coming to this retreat, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org Shambhala Mountain Center will be in touch with your parent or guardian to discuss arrangements.
- Shambhala Mountain Center is offering a special price of $54 per night for seasonal dorm accommodations for this retreat in order to make it more affordable for young sangha. This rate includes all meals.
- If you would like to upgrade to lodge accommodations, you can do so at a 25% discount for this retreat by entering the discount code “Sangha25” when you register. This discount does not apply to the already deeply discounted Seasonal Dorm accommodations.
- You are welcome to register for two nights (Friday and Saturday) if you can’t come for all three nights. We plan to officially end the retreat with a celebration after dinner on Sunday evening, and leaving day is Monday January 16th (Martin Luther King Day). If you can’t stay over Sunday night, please stay for as long as you can on Sunday. To sign up for only 2 nights, please still register for the whole program through the “register now” button above, but then select “pay with check”, and add in the comments section that you will only be coming for 2 nights. We will then get back to you to make arrangements for payment for the two night option.
- Travel assistance will take place on Monday the 16th at 9am. (Additional charge for this service.)
